Design/Build Slope Stabilization & Repair of Softball Fields

Menco Pacific served as the design/build contractor on this project which involved repairing the eroded land, damaged utilities, and chain link fencing beyond the left outfield of the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) Softball Field. The work included the design and construction of a new storm drain system for the ball field to mitigate slope wash-out and erosion, as well as construction of a segmental retaining wall (approximately 80 feet long and 25 feet high) to stabilize the slope, filling-in the gap between the existing segmental retaining walls. Menco also repaired and reconnected the damaged utilities (sprinkler system, underground electrical, etc.) as per the UFC and NAVFAC Southwest Utilities Standards. Menco connected the new storm drain system to the existing 18” diameter concrete pipe that drains the gym parking lot to the outfall. Menco Pacific completed this project ahead of schedule, within budget, and with zero safety-related incidents. As a result of Menco Pacific’s project team’s stellar performance and dedication, this project received an OUTSTANDING CCASS Evaluation from the contracting authority.

This contracting office was so pleased with Menco’s performance that they issued two (2) contract mods to include new window coverings and to move/replace building furniture. This project was completed on time, within budget, and with zero safety-related incidents to the complete satisfaction of the contracting authority and building users.

Design/Build PEO SUBS Renovation at Old Town Complex
